The Verengo Blog had posted earlier this month about Los Angeles City Mayor Villaraigosa's announcement that Los Angeles would move away from purchasing energy produced with coal. That was great news, but what has been even better is to see some of the immediate ramifications of that annoucmenet. One of Los Angeles cities largest suppliers of coal energy recently announced that it was scrapping a plan to build a 900mw coal power plant.You can read the article here.
